The 3rd and latest generation FaberTest IgE allergy test is capable of accurately testing sera up to 45,000 IU/ml of total IgE and over 150 allergens due to its small reaction zone. The multiple testing may improve binding to non-specific IgE by reducing the surface area of the test reaction. Moreover, the amount of allergen to be tested is greatly reduced and so is the cost of testing. The tests include immediate food allergy, animal-derived & plant-derived food allergy tests etc. For enquiry and booking of IgE allergy test, please contact re:HEALTH.

What is the Immunoglobulin E (IgE) Allergy Index?

When the body encounters an allergen, the immune system reacts in a series of ways. Immune cells will produce plenty of specific Immunoglobin E(IgE) to fight against the allergen. Coming into contact with IgE and being stimulated in a specific way, mast cells will release substances that cause inflammation including histamine, prostaglandin and leukotriene, which will in turn lead to allergy symptoms: rashes, redness and swelling, breathlessness etc. If the allergic reaction is severe, the trachea may swell and cause breathing difficulties, which can be life-threatening.

How can I reduce IgE naturally?

It is best to avoid or minimize contacts with allergens in your daily life, for example, pay attention to the ingredients of your food and drink, clean with hot water and change beddings and clothes frequently.

What are the symptoms of allergic reactions?

Allergic reactions usually occur a few hours to a few days after exposure to the allergen. Skin symptoms include itchy skin, eczema, urticaria (rubella), red rash, nasal allergy, asthma, abdominal pain, diarrhoea and so on. In severe cases, it can lead to life-threatening conditions such as dyspnoea and hypotension.

How long does it take to make an appointment?

Please make your appointment at least 1 working day in advance. Call (852) 2156 5857 or leave your name and contact number via WhatsApp (852) 6324 5948. We will respond within a business day.

Do I need to fast before the test?

No. Blood can be drawn at any time and also during an allergic attack (optimal period).

How often do I need to be tested for allergies?

Body may react differently to allergic substances due to changes in lifestyle or diet. It is recommended that people with allergies should be tested once a year to effectively monitor their allergies.
